There was no better way to spend pride weekend, then documenting some queer love. I’ve known Sonja since she was a little girl, her mother and I are dear friends. Watching her grow up and literally BLOOM, has been such a joy. She’s quiet, yet vibrant, caring and creative. Jackie is the yin to her yang. If a glitter bomb of excitement was a human, it would be Jackie. Their dynamic is something special.

A little trick I use at my sessions is taking what is right in front of me and making a concept story in my head. Its base on what I see and feel inspired by. I showed up to their apartment to find them in matching vintage nightgowns. They looked like little dolls. So sprinkled through the session are little nods to my make believe story. Girl loves doll so much, doll became a real girl.
